How do I book helicopter transfers?

Does your service operate year round and is there a set schedule?
Yes, we operate 365 days of the year from sunrise to sunset, weather permitting.  In order to ensure we can accommodate every guest, we do not operate to a set timetable.  We schedule our flights to connect with international arrivals and departures and fit in other requests also.  While we cannot accept a booking for a specific time, we can in most cases accommodate requests for morning or afternoon transfers.  We will notify our guests of their flight time the day prior or, in the case of the guest arriving from overseas at their hotel after close of business, we will notify the front desk of their hotel.

How long does it take to fly to the islands?

Flying time varies from ten to fifteen minutes dependant upon which Island you choose to visit.  Flight times to the Coral Coast range between twenty and twenty five minutes.  For more information on flight times, please see our flight time page on this website.



Where does the helicopter operate from?
Island Hoppers are based at Nadi Airport.  We operate from this site and also from the Denarau Marina, First Landing Resort and the Coral Coast. 



How do I get to the heli pad?
If you are arriving on an international or domestic flight, our courtesy van will pick you up and deliver you to the helipad. We will organise transfers from the lobbies of your hotel to our heli pad if you are staying at Denarau or along the Coral Coast.



What is the maximum number of passengers that can be transported in a helicopter?
We can take a maximum of six passengers in one helicopter, however if there is a larger group, we will operate more than one helicopter.



Is there a minimum number of passengers?
We require a minimum of two seats to confirm a booking.  If however, there is one passenger only, please contact us to see if we can accommodate you.



Can I fly to other places in Fiji?

We can fly you to the Yasawas, Suva ..........  just ask us!

Is there a baggage allowance?
We can usually only carry 15 kilos per passenger.  If you do have more luggage though, don't despair, we will be able to transport that to you on a later flight , or perhaps by boat.  We also provide complimentary baggage storage, just make sure you have a smaller bag with you to take to the island!


What about children’s prices?
We are proud to say that we do indeed cater for families to most destinations.  Those under 2 can fly free as long as they can sit on their parents lap.  For those children aged 2-12 years of age – the price is 70% of the adult rate.



Can I book a transfer from one Mamanuca Island to another?

Yes you can!  Island Hoppers can transfer you from one island to another no problem at all.  Just contact us or your tour desk to coordinate this for you.


Are there Scenic Tours are available?

Fiji is a country of stunning contrasts.  Our scenic flights allow you to experience the beauty of the islands and mountains.  We conduct four different scenic tours.  Please see our Tours and Packages page for more information on these tours.  We can also put together something specific.  You need only ask.



 

If I am staying at Denarau – who can I see to organise a scenic tour?
You can see your tour desk at your hotel.  Or if you are in the Marina, please visit our Island Hopper bure based right beside the Bula Bus Stop.  Our friendly staff will be able to advise you on the options that are available to you.



Do you have any other packages available?
We have a great range of special packages including jet boating adventures, heli fishing, heli golf and special lunch packages.  Please visit our scenic tours and packages page on this website for more information on the awesome experiences that are here in Fiji.  If you have something specific in mind, we can package it up for you.



What about a helicopter for our wedding?
Getting married in beautiful Fiji? Imagine arriving in style on your wedding day.  (Dependant upon the location of your wedding ceremony).

 

The bride can arrive at the ceremony or you can take a scenic flight on completion of your ceremony.  Whatever the choice, we can certainly work something out for you on your special day.

Infants/Children Fares
   0-23 months Free of charge if sitting on an adults lap
   24 months -12 years 70% of the adult fare
   13 and above Full Adult Fare

Flight Times
Although departure times are confirmed at the time of booking – actual times are subject to change due to flight scheduling. Flight schedules are completed the day before travel. Island Hoppers will confirm departure times ex the Resorts the day before.

 

Check-in and Boarding
Check in is required 30 minutes prior to departure at the Island Hoppers Lounge, Bradfield Drive, Nadi Airport for both Helicopter and Fixed Wing Flights.


Baggage Allowance - Helicopter
15kg per person, excess baggage will be charged on arrival. Over 15kg allowance will be charged at FJD$25 per kilo or sent on the next available flight or left in storage at our hangar.

 

Baggage Allowance - Fixed Wing
23kg per person, excess baggage will be charged on arrival. Over 23kg allowance will be charged at FJD$25 per kilo or sent on the next available flight or left in storage at the hangar.
 

Flight Hours
We fly within daylight hours (typically 6.30am – 5.30pm)

Taxes
   Fiji Government 9% VAT, 6% Service Turnover Tax and 10% Environment & Climate Adaptation Levy and are subject to change in accordance with Fiji taxation changes
   Airport and ALTB taxes and levies are included in the fare. These are subject to change and will be transparently passed on as and when adjusted by the authorities.
   Rates are subject to change due to major increases in oil or fuel prices, VAT and or STT increases and currency devaluation

 

Cancellation Policy - Helicopters
   Any reservation cancelled after 14 days of booking will be charged at FJD$100 per person cancellation fee.
   Any reservation cancelled after 5 days of booking, within the month of travel will be charged at FJD$100 per person cancellation fee.
   Any cancellation within 72 hours of travel or no show will be charged as per full rates.

 

Cancellation Policy – Fixed Wing
   Any reservation cancelled after 14 days of booking will be charged at FJD$100 per person
cancellation fee.
   Any reservation cancelled after 5 days of booking, within the month of travel will be charged at FJD$100 per person cancellation fee.
   Fare is 50% refundable if booking is cancelled before 14 days of departure
   Cancellation inside 14 days of departure is non refundable
   “No shows” will result in cancellation of sector and value of ticket being forfeited
   Change fee of FJD$100 per person per date change

 

Carriage of Passengers
   IHL will exhaust all reasonable steps to deliver an on time schedule. Delays, weather disruptions and cancellations will be managed in accordance with industry best practice and standard, we suggest all passengers have travel insurance.
   Island Hoppers is a charter based airline and flight times may vary slightly from those originally published due to daily flight scheduling.
   Any alterations or amendments will be communicated to the client/passengers and resorts ahead of the date of travel.
   Should weather conditions mean that flights cannot be carried out and no alternative transport can be arranged, passengers may be required to overnight which would be at their own expense. If passengers choose to take alternative transport this is their choice and standard cancellation terms apply to IHL flights.
   Travel insurance is encouraged.

Are subject to availability.


Payment Terms - Helicopter
Invoices will be sent the day after the first flight is flown.
   Flights taken between the 1st and 15th of the month are due by the 25th of that month.
   Flights taken between the 16th and the 30th/31st of the month are due on the 10th of the following month.


Payment Terms – Fixed Wing
Invoices will be sent the day after the first flight is flown.
   Flights taken between the 1st and 15th of the month are due by the 25th of that month.
   Flights taken between the 16th and the 30th/31st of the month are due on the 10th of the following month.

 

Monetary Fluctuations
The rates outlined within this contract are based on current exchange rates and are subject to immediate change in the event of a devaluation or severe fluctuation in exchange rates.

 

Termination
This agreement may be terminated upon THIRTY – (30) DAYS written notice. In addition, this agreement may be terminated at any time upon the failure of any party to comply with the terms and conditions of this agreement.
